on blood-sucking wombats
12:10 PM :
so i found out this morning that underworld 2: evolution is coming soon. ugh. those of you who know me know that i abhor "modern" vampire movies - in fact, i highly dislike nearly all vampire movies. the only modern series i like is hellsing, but only the manga, not the show. the show strays too far from the manga for my taste. i much prefer classic, mythological vampires to anne rice's over-emotional, whiny vampires. "preserve humanity," indeed. they're vampires. the undead. the cursed chidren of the night. and they're concerned with staying as human as possible? please. at least the masquerade is fun to play, if nothing else.

even joachim, a vampire from castlevania, is not very powerful. he does have some cool powers, though. (and you can play as him, which is a first for castlevania - playing as a bad guy.) walter, on the other hand, has more than a handful. and he can transform himself into a huge demon bat. but, unlike dracula in other games, he only has one form. now that i think about it, lament of innocence has no bosses that have more than one form. even death has only one. but in crazy mode he's so hard that you're glad he has only one.

openoffice 2.0 came out recently, so i downloaded it. apparently, in an effort to compete with microsoft, there is now xml support (kind of like in office xp and 2003). we'll see if the load times are any better this time around. the register did a comparison between the two. you can see it here.

this is crazy. you have to use a microsoft browser, though.

i might be going to a costume party with matt and jackie. got any good costume ideas?
