since i am averse to writing javascript code, i have instead opted for simple html. i have changed the posts to have one
jump to link each for the top of the comments and the top of the posts. i think that will suffice.
my good buddy marston, of mfpf fame, boasted about v3nt on his blog. i was flattered. and now, it seems, mfpf no longer exists on blogger. i wonder if the day's two events are related, somehow. given my odd species of luck, i wouldn't doubt it.
sometimes the collapsing of posts/comments causes ie to not display a certain amount of the page past the post in focus. interestingly enough, this does not seem to happen in firefox (1.0 rc2). do i need to say it again? besides, the site icon seems to display in firefox just fine, but not ie. more and more reasons. only thing is, the
jump to internal links don't seem to work in firefox. i guess they're an ie-only thing. ah well, nothing can be perfect.

i am awesome. the
jump to links work in firefox as well now. upon doing a little research, i found out that i couldn't use the number sign in the jump links. i had this:
<a name="#jumpto">post</a>
<a href="#jumpto">jump to post</a>
now i have this:
<a name="jumpto">post</a>
<a href="jumpto">jump to post</a>
and it works perfectly. man, the more web dev stuff i do, the more i realize just how out of wack ie really is.
