they have been slowly killing my childhood for years. the new tmnt series and the fat albert movie come to mind.

but this new steaming crap is the breaking point. the days of my youth are now not only dead and gone, but they have been beaten into a mushy pulp not unlike applesauce made with hamster guts with owl pelets thrown in for good measure.

i'm going to kill myself now.

in other news, i've been messing around with the expandability of javascript in not only the blog template en toto, but also inside the post itself. î

it works like this: i write the javascript in the template (where i also write the css, since it's easier in this case to include everything in one file). then, in any individual post, i reference the jscript and the name i want a specific expandable section to have (in this case, "test"). this is encapsulated inside a link reference. the last step is to create a span class, called "postshown" (for special formatting, i reference one created in my css - also defined in the jscript) and given the same id as i referenced in the link. and voila! instant expand/hide - hidden by default, to avoid having to read a long section of a post that covers many different things.
